Ever wondered how the pros get rid of blemishes on the famous models that grace the most popular magazines? Well here's how.

I learned this from a seminar I attended a few years ago and since then I have used it countless times. It really is simple and only takes a few minutes once learned. This one is really easy to remember too!

step 1: First off you will need to open a photo that has some blemishes like pimples, wrinkles, and so fourth.

Step 2: Duplicate the photo layer and select the "add vector mask" at the bottom of the layers palette. Select the duplicate layer and press the photo thumbnail on the layer palette so that the photo is active and not the mask.

Step 3: Once you have done this you will need to choose from the "Filter Menu" "Noise->Dust and Scratches"

Step 4: Start with sliding both the Radius and Threshold to Zero (0). Now grab the Radius slider and start sliding it to the right until the blemishes smooth out. Don't worry if it looks a little blurry, it's supposed to. Next slide the Threshold over to the right until you get a realistic fleshy, grain look. Click OK.

Step 5: Select a soft brush. I used the following settings, but these will very depending on how much feathering you want.

Step 6: Select the mask thumbnail on the duplicate photo layer so that it is active. Make sure that the foreground color is black and the background color is white.

Step 7: Now start painting over the areas you want to be sharp like the eyes, mouth, hair, ears and background. Be careful around the eyes, you don't want to sharpen the bags. Primarily just the actual eye part. You'll see.

After you're done it should look something like this:

Great tutorial...

I tried it out real quick to see how it would do on really bad wrinkles. I was quite impressed!

She looks a little blurry, but I think that's only because we can see the before version. If she was in an image alone, I think it will very little extra work I could make it look natural.
