Adobe Photoshop Tutorial:

Ok... so I just showed everyone some Web 2.0 style text. Now I'm going to show a quick way to create the Web 2.0 style lines you see on images.

Like this one:

Step 3.

We need to remove the white background... our pattern needs to be transparent over whatever future images we work with.

So we are going to make a new layer on top of our current one. Then drag our background down to the trashcan icon in the layers palette so that we can delete the white background quickly and efficiently.

Image

When done, you should only see layer 1 in layers palette.

Step 4.

Take the pencil tool and draw in black (#000000) from one corner to the other.

Step 5.

Now we are ready to define our new pattern.

Go to: Edit > Define Pattern

Image

Name it whatever you want...

Once this is done, you are done!

You can now select it in your layer styles as seen here:

I suggest doing these in both black and white and in both directions (left to right and right to left)

Have fun! 8)
