Not sure if this is the right place, but close enough I think..
I'm having a problem with my stupid webfarm. Awhile back, I moved all my stuff to subdomains as I've mention before.. Well when I was deleting the old directories out of the main URL folder, it wouldn't let me delete one series of folders/subfolders. Here is the error my FTP client gives me:
| Code: |
Status: Retrieving directory listing...
Command: CWD Legal Notice
Response: 550 Legal Notice: No such file or directory
Error: Could not retrieve directory listing
Status: Retrieving directory listing...
Command: CWD /dsc040942184/Media/Modules/
Response: 250 CWD command successful
Command: PWD
Response: 257 "/dsc040942184/Media/Modules" is the current directory |
My hosting package does not allow any SSH connections, so that is out. Quite honestly, I'm not even sure where this directory came from. I've installed a whole bunch of different stuff over the last 2 years and I can't remember what I had in that directory. Most likely it was part of nuke-PHP(portal). The only thing I've tried is CHMOD'n the directories with no luck. The permissions do change, but it still won't let me delete anything.
Any ideas of how to get rid of this? I only noticed it when I started messing around with Google sitemaps. Its no big deal(I just ignored that folder when I created the sitemap), but it is rather annoying. I'm finally getting to a point where my stuff is semi-organized and its irratating the heck outa me. _________________ www.alliedcombatexperts.org |

Hello twin_rotor!
Sorry for the delay in response, but I have had this problem in the past as well. I had to call the hosting company and get one of the techs to delete the folder. It has something to do with the permissions which are at a level only the server admins can change.
I hope this helps. _________________ James Levisee

No worries on the delay Thanks for taking the time to respond.
Calling a tech was going to be my next step. They're a hassle to deal with; thats why I havn't called allready. I wish I could afford a dedicated server.
Thanks again _________________ www.alliedcombatexperts.org |
