| Ok we have a new computer in our office with Vista on it and I am trying to get used to it. I am just curious what everyone else thinks of it? I think its pretty but I am much more familar with XP and I feel like a big idiot trying to figure how to do simple stuff. Heck this morning I had issues trying to make a new folder....LOL! |

There are a few things about it I don't care for... and I feel so much better when I get back on my ol' trusty xp computer.
A lot of things are improved in vista... and I'd go as far to say that 98 to xp was more of a shock for me then xp to vista.
Here is what I had a problem with... I added a program, then unstalled it. (on vista)... the program was gone, but it was still listed in the start menu of programs, the folder for the program that is.
I ended up having to go into hidden folders in the system and finding the start menu area... then when I got there, the folder didn't exist... so I had to make a new folder for it, then delete it again... and only then was it removed from the start menu. (unlike in xp where you can just right-click it in the start menu and select delete... this had only one option "expand")
now... that is jacked up. there is no way a normal home user would know what to do... their start menu is going to be full of empty folders. _________________ FYI: If you are planning on spaming this form don't bother.

I am getting used to it now but it still does some quirky stuff and I seem to have to reboot alot which ticks me off cause its always at a time that I just don't want to deal with that. Kind of like when you get a pop up window that you need to do an update....for me its always "later". _________________ - Elizabeth |

I'm thinking of buying a non Windows computer. Anything but windows. I have XP right now, but I never want to go to Vista. So, that's what I'm thinking about doing. _________________ Eye Quilt

Well... it's been a few months. I still hate Vista. More now than before. Thank God I don't have to work on that operating system (yet)... _________________ FYI: If you are planning on spaming this form don't bother.
